Shannon has a special interest in insulin resistance, pre-diabetes/diabetes, cardiovascular health/high cholesterol, and women’s health.
She spent the first 3 years of her career as a nurse practitioner working in gastroenterology and hepatology but her first love is primary, holistic patient care which led her back to Wilmington Internal Medicine. She spent time training with Dr. Frank A. Snyder as a nurse practitioner student in 2018.
Shannon possesses a variety of nursing experiences including 5+ years in medical-surgical, hematology, and oncology nursing. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina, and her Master of Science in Nursing degree at The University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.
